8th September
The squad's got a tough job to do today. I hope most of the armour is taken out by the arty boys, but I guess we wont know until we reach the ridge-line.
The lads are a bit nervous. I just hope Alpha squad can hold Ivan's attention while we sneak up behind him and stick a cork in his arse!
Welcome to Operation Thor's Hammer.
Today we must neutralise the Russian base at Lancre before they have time to prepare for an attack later tonight.
Here is some background information on the situation.
You will be commanding Bravo squad in an anti-armour role.
Here are your orders in more detail.
The main objectives are as follows:
Move your squad to the FUP
Attack and neutralise the Russian base
Hold the Russian base until support units arrive
Detailed Orders
Our target is the Russian base at Lancre village.
Alpha, Bravo and Charlie squads will board the M113 transport at base camp under the command of Papa Bear. All squads will be transported to their disembark points.
Bravo squad will disembark on the beach to the north-east of Lancre.
All squad's will then proceed to their forming-up points (FUP).
Alpha squad's FUP is to the south and Bravo squad's FUP is to the north-east. Charlie squad will sit in reserve at their FUP on the main road to the east. Papa Bear will be sitting in a rear position where they can easily conduct the assault.
Bravo and Charlie squads must radio in to Alpha when they have reached their FUPs. Alpha will then confirm to Papa Bear that all squads are in position and Papa Bear will begin an artillery barrage.
Once the artillery barrage is over, Alpha and Bravo squads must coordinate their attack via the radio so that Alpha squad can conduct a diversionary attack while Bravo squad moves in.
Bravo squad will advance on the Russian base and concentrate on destroying any surviving armoured units.
If the attack is going badly, Alpha squad is responsible for calling Papa Bear for support. Papa Bear will then order Charlie squad in from their reserve position to the east.
When the Russian base has been neutralised, you must hold it until the American armoured units arrive.
Here are the communication details for Bravo squad.
Radio Communications
The only times you will need to use the radio will be to inform Alpha squad that you have arrived at your FUP and to coordinate your attack with Alpha squad.
0, 0, 1 will signal arrival at your FUP.
0, 0, 2 will confirm the beginning of the coordinated attack.
Situation Report
Early this morning a recon flight took these pictures of the Russian base at Lancre, just two klicks to the west of our current position.

We believe, in addition to the armoured units shown in the photos, there are also three to four infantry squads. We have an observer watching the base right now who's feeding updates to us.
All this clearly shows Ivan is gathering an attack force. We believe from reports that they plan to attack one of our foward positions tonight. We have no armoured or air units in the vacinity at the moment, but some are on the way. As these units will probably not arrive in time, we must strike while the Russians are still in their base.
Ivan thinks we'll have our pants down, but we're going to give him a little surprise.
Well done, the base is ours!
Looks like the Russians will live another day
