OK, if we can take this city, we've got a great stepping stone to Cancon! The trick is going to be getting as close as I can and attacking at different places simultaneously...I'm gonna go and do a little scouting with my binoculars before we head in, see if this is going to be as easy as Intel is saying, somehow I don't believe them.
I have more background information in my Intel report.

Intel report

The reason you're not getting tank or air support is that this strike must be as fast and as quiet as possible. Any tanks or choppers we could spare right now are in Sainte Marie, and by the time they'd reach you, the city might not be as easily taken as now. Don't worry, the city shouldn't be guarded by more than 10-15 infantry, and suprise is on your side! Expect enemy reinforcements from nearby troops within three minutes after you start fighting. According to our information, they could come from the east or the south. Make sure you take the city as quickly as possible and defend it against the first wave of reinforcements. By the time the second wave can arrive, we'll have the city secured with tank and air support - but only if you can hold the city!
Back to notes

OK, here's the plan. Since we've been fighting for days in Sainte Marie, Intel tells us that the enemy has considerably loosened their grip in other border cities - such as La Riviere. Your mission is to seize and hold the city with your six men, either eliminating all enemy units or causing them to flee. Your starting point is your camp about a mile north of the city.

Before attacking, make sure you scout the city out with your binoculars for any unexpected enemy presence.

Seize the city quickly and hold out against the first wave of reinforcements.

Wait for tank support.

Done

Great work, soldier! We knew it would be easy!
This is a great step forward. Relax and take the day off!

Mission failed

Well, you're still alive, but La Riviere is still under Russian control. Get back to base immediately.

You and your whole team are dead. Don't expect any medals, either.
