NOTES ON USE:
The Tossers are available for 3 sides, to give more flexibility when making missions. They have not been added for Civilians as that is rather pointless - if you don't want soldiers to fire back at them, type this setCaptive true in the tosser's initfield. Only Tossers can use the rearm boxes, as the ammo requires a custom version of "Throw".
The men have not been retextured, so they can blend seamlessly with the original civilians.
Tossers are rather harmless in small numbers as their aim simply sucks. However, a big mob with max skill setting can become quite dangerous, if not directly deadly! Try the included single player demo mission to see what I mean.
At long distance they will only have a chance to hit you if you stand still or move in a straight line. They will continue to throw at their enemy even at very close range. Rate of fire with rocks and vodka is higher than with handgrenades, as they don't require much preparation :-)
Tossers don't fire quite as fast when prone. To keep them from hitting the dirt, simply type this setUnitPos "UP" into their initfield. It's not recommended to use this command on units that are playable - I've experienced crashes related to that.
When playing a Tosser you may find it hard to aim at first - but after some training, rocks can become quite good a weapon! Try out the multiplayer demo for training! Be aware that if you use up all your items and then rearm, you may have to press the "switch weapon" key to reactivate the items.
The ammo doesn't just vary in appearance. Vodka bottles makes slightly less damage than rocks but can be thrown more stable (as they are uniform in size and weight). They also break, which is a wonderful thing. :-) TV's are bigger and heavier, so they give most damage on impact and has a slightly larger area of effect. However, you can't carry many of them and they can't be thrown very far.
Realism: I'm aware that few people are able to pull a color TV from their pocket and throw it 10 meters - but it's a good laugh!
Disclaimer: The GIM author tag has been properly registered at OFP Editing Center and is used on all classes added. This is a protection against conflicts in OFP, however I cannot guarantee that the addon works perfectly for everybody, as there are so many different PC's and OFP configurations out there. Using addons will not activate Fade.
Have fun, Tosser!
Gimbal_Tossers where originally meant for another addon, soon to be released. Here's a small ad:
