To install the campaign, select the file "BeachHead OFP.pbo", copy it (CTRL-C) and Paste (CTRL-V) it to your campaigns folder (default is C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Campaigns)
Note that you need the Mammoth Tank addon by WarMachine (included)
Based on the game BeachHead OFP, this is an arcade campaign for OFP: Resistance.
The storyline behind the campaign is that, in terms of personnel, your battalion on the island of Nogova has been greatly weakened by a Russian chemical attack. This is in preparation for an all-out invasion by the Russian task force.
The shortage of personnel has lead your commanding officer to order all men who are fit to fight to man the armour (which is not in short supply) and take up defensive positions around the island. In many cases such as yours there are only enough men to have one soldier per tank.
You must defend the area you are assigned to (a beach) in a static tank. You will face all kinds of opposition listed in the briefings for all missions.. The action takes place across 5 missions of variable and generally progessive difficulty.
This is not meant as a serious mission - it is simply meant as a diversion from your regular mission playing. So don't criticise it for being too unrealistic.
This campaign requires Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. That is version 1.75 minimum, version 1.91 strongly recommended (due to the improvements in AI most notable in helicopters). It also requires two addons: the Mammoth Tank by WarMachine (included) and the BIS Camel (download from most OFP sites, including the official ones)
In terms of system, the first mission won't be too demanding on your system. However, some of the later ones can have a lot happening on screen at once, and a reasonable system is suggested. Although it still should be playable with systems of a lesser specification, a 1 GHz processor, 256 Mb RAM, GeForce 2 (or equivalent) graphics card system should be fine for this. If you are having trouble, simply reduce the graphics options.
I have included this section because, particularly if you haven't played the arcade game BeachHead 2002 before, you may be lost playing this at first. Really, it is very simple.
Firstly, start the campaign from the campaign menu. After the intro is finished, you will be faced with the briefing. The basic idea of all missions is to defend the beach against the enemy attack, destroying all attacking units. You should first read the notes section because this tells you the rules. Back in the main section of the briefing, it tells you that you have 80 seconds to complete the mission (a time limit only applies for some missions) and that you have 0 repair kits available for this mission (this is explained the notes section).
You should now read the "unit profiles" section because this tells you of how the units differ from what you are used to.
When you start the campaign, there will be two figures on the screen. On the bottom left is the time remaining to destroy all enemies (in some missions this is simply a timer to tell you how long you have played) and in the bottom right is the score. You should switch to the turret view (default key for this is numpad 0).
You will need to use the "turret view" if you want to succeed (default is numpad 0)
Basically, after knowing all this, you should not have any trouble playing.
